Evolution CMS
Some of you may have been wondering what we have been up to lately. The answer is we have been developing a next generation Ruby content management system named 'Evolution', or 'Evo' for short. Evolution is comprised of several of the best Rubygems out there, as well as many custom gems, and will offer an extremely robust, unified mechanism for modular functionality.
Evo Developers
So what does this mean for developers? this means you use the language you love, the libraries you are used to developing with, in order to create Evolution "packages" which then can be distributed between the community for use. Core packages mean that you will never worry about creating authentication scripts again, never worrying about routing paths again, handling permissions and much more.
Evo Users
For the end user, Evolution will provide an elegant, minimalistic, yet simple to use interface packed with tons of functionality behind the hood. An end user will simply install packages, manually or from within the interface and be provided with an immediate rich set of new functionality provided by the core Evolution team or contributors.
Administration UI Mockup
Below is the first mockup for our interface. As the beta release nears we will be posting more information regarding both developers and end users looking to utilize a powerful Ruby CMS.

Is this project still being developed? Is there a roadmap or are release dates published? Looking forward to this !!
nice article. Thanks for sharing this
Hi, looks interesting
any update on release date ?
and thanks
i m very much impressed and really like to work on this project.
Plz complete the proj and realese the versions..
Seems that you have a hit here: Drupal functionnalities + Ruby/Rails programming!
I look forward to see your project on GitHub (or somewhere else).
Keep up the good work, look very promising.
Etienne.
Is it publicly available (GitHub and the like) or will it be closed source?
I really like Drupal features but don't like PHP... Drupal philosophy + Ruby/Rails is a perfect match for me.
It look nice! I'm sure it will get many followers!
Looks very promising.
Great format...clean & simple...looking forward to seeing the release version.
It will be open source, easy contributing via GIT / Github, and will be most likely licensed under MIT. The project still has a ways to go until its usable but if all goes well it will be great :)
I was curious if this project will also be open-sourced and GPL'd?
nice !
Thank you. Should be late this year, we have had little time to work on Evo lately, but we will let everyone know.
What's the ETA on a release for Evo? It looks very clean and simple … very nice.
Looks interesting, particularly as you've come from developing for Drupal. Will look forward to seeing how it compares.
